I won’t lie, I have been staring at my blank screen for hours now, and I honestly don’t know what to include and what not. (Or is it because I started re-watching FRIENDS? Well, we’ll never know)
There are several benefits of shopping locally, but how do I contain all of them in a blog?
I thought I would include the benefits that we discussed in today’s meeting, but then are those reasons enough? Don’t I need to go beyond that?
So, here is it. I am going to try to list all the benefits of shop local (the ones that’ll make the most sense to me); else, this blog would be never-ending.
See, shopping locally is not all about saving some bucks; it is like a ripple effect that we usually tend to ignore.
To help these local merchants rise, there are several local shopping apps that support these local merchants bloom.
But then again, what are the benefits of these local shopping apps?
Community Wellbeing
Ever since the pandemic, it has been highlighted that locally-owned businesses are needed for stronger communities. When you buy from a local store, you get to contribute to everyone’s livelihood in your community.
Greater Deals
Local shops rely on local people. Smaller independent local shops have even fewer customers; this means they often have greater deals that help to bring in more customers.
Quality Products
Take it from me, someone who’s been shopping locally her whole life, these local merchants offer the best quality products and services. It is mostly because larger chain stores have the storage to stock many products; however, in the case of local businesses, they tend to focus on quality rather than quantity.
Rare Products
Big conglomerate stores follow trending seasonal products, whereas local merchants still believe that old is gold. Come on, if it weren’t for these shops, where would you find sweet cigarettes, chand sitaare, all those candies we bought back in those days, and literally everything you’ve ever wanted.
