Now, if I have to judge and explore a city, I would do that by roaming around and doing street shopping because… Pyaar mei junoon hai, dosti street shopping mei sukoon hai. (I know, kaafi filmy hun main)
I swear to God, today only my friends and I made plans to go for a trip, and I blurted out that I wanted to go to Chennai.
So, meri research toh ho gayi thi start, and because I have been researching for like five hours straight, I thought it was only fair for me to educate you about shopping in Chennai.
Now, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know that Chennai is famous for sarees. So, yep! I was looking for the best saree shops in Chennai. (Nahi, I don’t wear sarees, but we can always buy gifts, na?)
However, no one knows that I want to go to Chennai because this city has the best saree shops. Let it be a secret between us, okay?
BEST SAREE SHOPS IN CHENNAI
Nalli 100
Nalli is one of the iconic saree stores in the whole of Chennai. It goes without saying that Nalli has a wide range of sarees, but they have an entire floor dedicated to fabrics!
Kanakavalli
Kanakavalli is home to a breathtaking collection of sarees, which the founder personally curates. (How cool is that!) Look no further if you are looking for a statement, Kanjeevaram.
Sundari Silks
This store is special because of its handpicked collection of sarees. They even stock readymade accessories and blouses. Shop for your whole look in one place, and don’t go roaming in the markets trying to match the color of your saree fall with the blouse.
Tulsi Silks
And dude, this store has a cult following, no kidding. This place is known for its vast collection of georgettes, silks, benarasis, tussars, and whatnot. With its own weaving unit, you can get the custom saree of your dreams.
Palam Silks
This store is unique in terms of offering the silk history and heritage of the founder’s childhood. Their capsule launches a specific weave or feature, like ‘high-rise’ silk sarees with a single border, meaning that the wearer can look up to three inches taller.
And, for no reason at all…
First of all, all of my lists are never in order. I just write without any particular ratings. Yaar, but if you are on vacation with your friends, do you want to spend time looking for these shops in the whole town, or you can order everything you need from local markets with LMO.
I mean, the choice is yours, bro… YOU DO YOU!
(Make a smart choice, will you?)
